Volunteers for CARE Ministry - Interviewers (and also Bilingual)
- - Need volunteer interviewers to speak with clients and help determine clothing, food, and work needs. Spanish a plus.
HOURS: Mondays 10 am to 2 pm
Receptionist for CARE Ministry
-- Greet clients and assist interviewers, answer phones.
HOURS: Fridays 10 am to 2 pm
Cashier Volunteer for Second Blessing Store
-- Sell items, help customers in the store, sack purchased items, help with voucher program.
HOURS: Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
-- ANY hours appreciated on any days.
Administrative Volunteers for WHAM Marketing
-- Must be willing to learn computer and assist in office work.
- Students and those wanting to get back into the workforce are welcome.
HOURS: Any day or time Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
ESL Class Volunteers for WHAM - Assist adults practice speaking and writing English.
-- located at Christ The Servant Church, 2400 Wilcrest, north of Westheimer.
HOURS: Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.
ESL Office Volunteers at WHAM - Light office typing, filing, computer knowledge a plus.
HOURS: Monday - Thursday 1:30 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.
Job Search Volunteers - Need volunteers
-- at St. Cyril Church to assist DOMESTIC job seekers and employers
- located at Cyril Church, 10503 Westheimer, (2nd floor)
St. Cyril Hours: -- Mondays only 10:00 a.m. till 11:30 a.m.
AND
-- at WHAM to assist regular job seekers search for work. Spanish speakers a plus.
- located at WHAM, 10501 Meadowglen Lane
WHAM Hours: -- Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
GREETERS / Volunteers at the store
-- Need volunteers to greet customers in store, and donors in receiving.
Hours: Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Food Pantry Volunteers
- - Stock shelves and pull orders for clients.
Hours: Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteer Chaplain
- Monday and Wednesdays
HOURS: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Required Experience:
* No experience required, just a willingness to help others.
* Short-term volunteers may come in groups of any size on chosen mornings or afternoons.
* Long-term Volunteers must meet minimum background check standards.
* Student projects, either Solo or by Class, must be registered prior to beginning the project.
* ANY hours appreciated on any days.
Position Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
This Job Requires the Following Skills:
* Love working with people.
* Be flexible Monday through Saturday.
* We accommodate Special Projects for business employee teams and civic groups.
* We are closed on Sunday.
