Event Planning Internship
Description of Internship:
            Food and Vine Time Productions produces wine, beer and culinary events and festivals around the Houston area. We are looking for an intern to who is interested in entering the event planning field and wants pre-productions and on-site event experience. Below is a list of items that the internship may encompass (this list is subject to change based on the needs of FVTP and the intern):
·         We need our intern to expand the social media marketing for our company and events. We need someone who can work independently and market/ learn to market our events and company through Facebook, Twitter and other sites.
·         Our intern may be charged with helping to recruit vendors and restaurants for the fall 2011 events. This will include calling past participant as well as developing new leads, creating a business relationship and garnering their support. 
·         Our intern will need to help the staff of FVTP with administrative tasks as deemed necessary by the FVTP staff.
·         On-Site, our intern will be charged with helping the FVTP staff coordinate the production of the events from start to finish. This may mean being behind the scenes in the office handling incidental situations or being on-site helping to make sure the flow of the event is correct.

Dates of Internship:
·         Fall Internship: August through December, dates are subject to the wants and needs of FVTP and the intern
 
Time Requirement: We are flexible on schedule for the internship according to the time constraints of the FVTP staff as well as the intern. The Intern will need to be able to work out of our office and possibly also from home.
 
Student Interns:
·         Major/Classification: Open to any major and any student classification
·         Class Credit: We are open to this option, given that the student provides us with ample time to review the paperwork for class credit and make a decision on if we feel we can help the student meet those requirement.
 
Paid/Unpaid: This is an unpaid internship.
 
Skills and Requirements: Proficient knowledge of Facebook and Twitter is needed. Candidates will also need to be skilled in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. A drive to learn, good writing skills, and creativity are necessary. Candidates must be personable, responsible, mature and able to handle high stress situations.
 
Job Application Requirements: We will need a resume with cover letter describing how the candidate believes he or she will benefit from the internship as well as what he or she hopes to accomplish in the future.
