About The Event Series
Created in 2005, the Houston West Chamber of Commerce Annual Women Driving Business Series is a series of networking events aimed at key businesswomen in West Houston, including C - Level Executives and female owned businesses. Women Driving Business provides opportunities to network, connect, and promote business through a series of uniquely feminine events. Since women interact and network differently than men, this is a perfect platform and opportunity for special business connections. A portion of the net proceeds benefit charitable causes in West Houston.
This is a three event series for our sponsors, consisting of a Breakfast (August), Luncheon (September), and Social (October)
- The breakfast, exclusive for the sponsors, is a women only meeting over a morning meal to meet, greet, and enjoy a riveting keynote speaker
- The luncheon features an informed, distinguished business woman sharing her journey and the expertise and advice she learned along the way.
- The social is an evening of cocktails and conversation, as you conclude the series in a relaxed atmosphere.
While Women Driving Business continues to be a bright spot in the Chamber’s annual fund raising efforts over the past eleven years, approximately 7% of net proceeds from the event series have been awarded to charitable causes including: scholarships to The Fashion Group Foundation, Houston Community College, The Art Institute of Houston, House of Amos, Spring Branch Educational Fund, Wonderland in Westchase, Alief ISD backpack and uniform drive, Tzu Chi Japan Relief, Carolyn Faulk Foundation, Goodwill Industries, Corporate Guild for Dress for Success Houston and the Pink Ribbons Project. For the 10th anniversary, the Women Driving Business Committee worked to raise money to help a local west Houston young woman. This woman had overcome the struggles of foster care to graduate from college and with the help of the Women Driving Business Committee is now learning business etiquette, money management and has landed a job within a chamber company! She is well on her way to success and the committee could not be more proud.
